Tech Focus Group Wrap Up – Your Feedback and Our Response

by Scott Gaffan on August 26, 2015

Recently, we ran a small focus group with sales associates in 5 of our branch offices to find out what their thoughts were about us adding Exchange / Office 365 to our company’s technology offerings. We also took the opportunity to ask them to provide any other feedback they had regarding our current technology products and services.

We thought that we would share the results with the rest of the company. We encourage all of you to send us your feedback both as a response to this current information as well as any other feedback that you may want to offer us at any time.

I have included the feedback from our focus group below along with our response from our CIO, Jodi Dines.

From Jodi:
Thank you for your participation in our focus group regarding Office 365. There was a good response to adding Exchange/Office 365 to our offerings and we are going to continue down the road of evaluating that as a product for you. It will take some time as we want to dig into the interest level even more with other groups and decide on how to package but we are going to continue to pursue because of your feedback.

The secondary goal of your group was to provide any other feedback you had regarding our products. Here is what you said and our response:

1. Prune One Place:  We look at our products all of the time and even if someone in your office doesn’t use it, if it’s there, there are agents using that product. Our goal is to provide a selection of products so that everyone can find a few things they like to use and that seems to be happening. If no one is using a product, we would certainly discontinue that product.

2. Improve user-friendliness of One Place and adapt a more modern look to applications:
Since there are so many pieces to One Place, it’s hard to guess where specifically this feedback is targeted. We are currently in the process of updating the OurOnePlace.net main page to include company news and to organize the links better. For some of the products, you will be able to access them through the new One Place IOS agent app which is a mobile friendly, user friendly interface. The goal is for this interface to replace the archaic desktop one to a large degree.

3. Offer more training through video and publicize:  All of our training can be found on ScottsTechTips.com. If there are specific tutorials you feel are missing, please email scottg@realestateone.com directly to request they be created.

4. Improve participation in training:  We’d LOVE to! How do we do that? What are we missing that you or your peers need to participate in?

5. More support outreach:  Office managers know they can have us visit your office and sales meetings at any time to discuss anything; however, we don’t find many invitations on our doorstep. Please talk to your manager about what you’d like more support and training  on because the resources are at their beck and call.

6. Regular communication on what the Real Estate One IT Department offers, is doing, and plans on doing: Please read Scotts Tech Tips when they come out via email or go to the blog for all posts. This is the Real Estate One IT Department’s main communication vehicle for these points.

7. More emphasis on Technology:  I’d like to get more feedback on what is being referred to specifically here in order to comment. Feel free to email jdines@realestateone.com at any time regarding your needs. We run a democratic system where the items that are requested most get the most attention so please cast your vote whenever you feel there is a need not being addressed.
