What’s the hottest thing in Real Estate Marketing for 2016? Video, Video and more Video. Not only has the power to stream live video become easy and available to the masses, sharing that live video stream with your network has become just as easy.
Facebook Live has just starting to become available to some users and will be available for all users within the next couple of months. Periscope became popular last year as Twitter’s live streaming app and other live streaming services like Google+ Hangouts, Blab and Meerkat are also available making it easier than ever before to stream live video.
These new video streaming apps and services have opened up some cool marketing opportunities for real estate sales associates. They can be used to do live open house tours of homes, buyer presentations, informational and promotional videos, community tours and any other creative use of live streaming video you can come up with to help you to promote your listings and your brand.
I put together the list of links below to introduce you to the main streaming video services and I included links to some great advice on how to use them to market your listings and yourself so you can be up and streaming in no time at all.
I also wanted to mention that Zillow has just launched a new app that allows agents to create a walkthrough video with their smart phone, edit it and post it to Zillow. These videos do not contain audio and the quality of the video will be dependent on the phone that’s used to record it and the agent’s ability to hold the phone steady while walking. Although the video quality will be rough and raw, this move by Zillow is driven by consumer demand. Zillow knows that their buyers want video and video walkthroughs allow a buyer to see a homes flow better than a floor plan or a 3D tour. It’s no surprise, for an online buyer it truly is the closest thing to actually walking through the house. Follow this link for more information about Zillow’s new Video Walkthroughs.
Video has huge marketing power online. It can be used to attract attention and increase brand awareness. It’s an effective way to leverage yourself as the expert and to build trust with your network. The early adopters have the potential of getting the most attention, as is usually the case, so don’t wait for video to become the new normal in real estate marketing. Get out there and shoot some video. Have fun and be creative.
