3 Important Online Profiles and The Premium Roost Social Media Toolkit

by Scott Gaffan on February 15, 2011

This week’s post focuses on creating 3 very important online profiles.

Trulia, and Zillow both allow sales associates to create a free profile and to claim and edit their listing information. Without a personal profile on these two major real estate search portals, your listings may be appearing to thousands of potential clients without an easy way for them to contact you directly. Also, the ability to log in and edit listings quickly on these two sites may allow you to provide a higher level of customer service if a seller requests a site specific change.
A Google Profile is a great way to control what people find when they search for you online.  Today, it’s quite common for potential clients to do a quick search online to research products and services and that includes you.  A Google profile is an easy way to increase your online presence. Create a professional profile with links to your website, favorite social networks and blog. You can even enable a messaging feature that allows people to send you a message without revealing your email address.
I’ve included links to get you started with each of these 3 important profiles below.

Set up a personal profile on Zillow. Zillow uses your email address to connect you to your listings so use the same email address on your Zillow profile as you do on your listings with the MLS. You can also add a secondary email address if you need to.

Jodi Dines sent this out via email back on the 9th and I just wanted to repost it here also to remind everyone of this great offer.

Hello, With the overwhelming popularity of Facebook amongst consumers and its increasing use by companies as a means to connect with their customers, we recently re-launched our company Facebook page with a new “Home Search” tab. To accomplish this, we partnered with Roost, the leader in social marketing for real estate professionals.

Roost can also provide you with the tools, content and strategy to help you in your own social marketing. Roost offers a free Real Estate tab that you can include one market in; however, to have more markets, you would need the Premium version. To that end, we have negotiated a deeply discounted price of $14.99 per month for 6 months on the Premium Roost Social Media Toolkit for all Real Estate One agents. There are no long-term commitments and you can cancel anytime.  You must use the link below to get the discount.

Finally, if you are interested in how social marketing can boost your business, we would encourage you to take advantage of the free training sessions provided by Roost. I attend these myself and find them to be excellent. A session schedule can be found by clicking here.

Thank you!
