Webinar is simply short for Web-based seminar, a presentation, lecture, workshop or seminar that is transmitted over the Web.
A key feature of a Webinar is its interactive elements — the ability to give, receive and discuss information allowing full interaction between the presenter and the audience.
Joining a Webinar is usually a two part process. Connecting and logging into a website and calling a set phone number and entering a pass code. The presentation is viewed on your computer screen and the audio comes from your phone or speaker phone. Some Webinars require you to register ahead of time and the login information including the website address, phone number and pass code will be emailed to you prior to the event. Others will email all of the invitees the login information and anyone that is interested can just login and join when the event begins.
It is usually recommended that you join a Webinar 5 to 10 minutes before it is set to start to ensure that you are logged in correctly when the session begins.
Once the login process is complete, all you have to do is sit back and enjoy the show! J
